Nestled on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal in Scotland, the now silent distillery of Port Dundas thrived as a grain whisky mixing powerhouse for almost 200 years. In 2010, it closed its doorways, and this season – very similar to the sartorial muses of yesteryear that dominate these heart-thumping runways within the spring – this ghost distillery turns into the center of Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s newest launch: Ghost and Uncommon Port Dundas.
The Ghost and Uncommon sequence explores simply eight of the rarest whiskies inside the unparalleled Johnnie Walker reserves. This limited-edition launch includes of creamy, wooden notes from Port Dundas, vanilla and tender smoke from the “ghost” whiskies of Cambus and authentic shares of Brora. Different very uncommon whiskies from Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie reveal notes of spiced apples alongside Clynelish, Dailuaine and Auchroisk bringing aromas of peaches and berries.
“The staff and I’ve at all times been fascinated by how Scotch from a small variety of iconic closed distilleries have a singular, inimitable character that lend one thing very particular to Johnnie Walker Blue Label,” says Johnnie Walker grasp blender Dr. Emma Walker.
“We wished every launch within the sequence to supply a possibility to savour the depth of flavour of whiskies from ‘ghost’ distilleries which have long-since closed (and infrequently forgotten), however whose spirit nonetheless lives on within the dwindling shares of their maturing Scotch,” she continues.
“The sequence, at its easiest, sees a few of our rarest whiskies reawakened.”
In different phrases, a timeless muse whose spirit lives on.
At all times drink Johnnie Walker responsibly.
